Dear Friends,

Since 1948, the Day Care Council of New York has worked to propel the development of quality early care and education services. Over the last 73 years, we have partnered with our members meet the needs of New York City’s families for child care that meets parents’ needs and high-quality education that gets young children ready to succeed in school and beyond.

We accomplish our goals through:

  • public policy and advocacy for providers, their employees, and NYC families;
  • legal consultation and technical assistance for providers;
  • referral services for families seeking quality care;
  • early childhood training opportunities for professionals in the field;
  • the Early Childhood Career Ladder created to assist early childhood education professionals complete their studies in early childhood education,
  • and much, much more.
